Priorities in an Emergency

AUSTALIAN TRIAGE SCALE:

Early recognition is a key step in initiating early management of an emergency.

In all emergency situations, the rescuer should:

•  Quickly assess the situation

•  Ensure safety for the rescuer, injured person and any bystanders

•  Send for help (call for an ambulance)

•  Reassure the casualty with quick, assertive, appropriate and confident treatment.
